About

Skelwith is a small and beautiful parish in the South of Cumbria, within the Lake District National Park.

The boundary of the Parish runs from Lake Windermere in the East, to Pierce How Beck in the West, South towards Outgate and North as far as Elterwater.

The Community Centre is situated just 150m off the main A593 Ambleside to Coniston Road at Skelwith Bridge, it is uniquely accessible to users from the area west of Windermere.

Originally built as the village school in 1857, since 1979 it has been run by a charitable trust to provide a focal point for the surrounding rural district community.

Community groups, commercial organisations and individuals can hire the building and its environs for events, educational classes or meetings, all at a reasonable cost.
